Good Earth To Offer Estancia Beef
Good Earth in Fairfax, California has been a pioneer in selling and promoting natural and organic food since 1969 and now they're offering delicious and sustainable Estancia grass-fed, pasture-raised beef in their gorgeous, expanded store.
The Good Earth guys and gals know about healthy and tasty food and so its a real honor to be working with them.It sounds hokey or maybe a little naive but the truth is they really care about the quality and integrity of the food they sell. From their site:
We offer foods grown and prepared using a minimum of processing and no chemical pesticides or food additives. If we cannot meet this ideal with a certain food item, we get as close as we can and make as much noise as we can to change it for the better. We always endeavor to remember that food contains spirit.
Our friends at Good Earth really put Estancia through the wringer to make sure we met their high standards. They spent a long time understanding how we produce our beef, scrutinizing our protocols from pasture to processing to packaging and shipping.
What they discovered is that Good Earth and Estancia are kindred spirits (if organizations can be kindred spirits), because we really care too. We care about our animals, which is why they never ever see a feedlot. We care about the traditions that go into making grass-fed pasture-raised beef, which is why we employ gauchos whose families have been caring for cattle for centuries. We care about safety, which is why the standards, inspections, testing, and third-party audits of our processing facility make it the cleanest in the world (yes, in the world!). We care about taste of our beef, which is something that sometimes falls by the wayside where grass-fed beef is concerned.
The Estancia beef Good Earth sells is produced from the naturally-occurring grasslands of Uruguay, but we're neighbors too--Estancia owns a ranch down the road in Petaluma, California where we're trying to produce grass-fed, pasture-raised beef from our local herd that competes in flavor, consistency, and safety with our beef from Uruguay and Argentina. Like Good Earth, we believe it's better to take care and do things right in order to produce healthy and delicious beef than to rush things chasing after money.
We too believe that our beef contains spirit--the spirit of healthy, happy animals eating clean and plentiful grass, living in harmony with the environment.
