We Got Your Back
Imagine clean, healthy cows grazing fresh, green grass. Imagine endless pastures filled with happy animals living the way they evolved to live. Imagine the happy herds that produce Estancia beef.
Pasture-raised beef is much less susceptible to contamination than feedlot-produced beef. It's easy to understand why. The animals aren't crowded together, densely packed into pens, wallowing in their own waste. Our cattle roam free. We never use growth-promoting antibiotics (a staple in feedlot operations) because we don't have to. Our animals are healthy and happy.
Clean Beef
At Estancia we've invested in systems and protocols that ensure clean slaughter, packaging, and shipment. We test our facilities every day and we have a third-party auditor test us every week. Our state-of-the-art slaughterhouse in Uruguay makes most US operations look medieval. Our systems allow us to trace every cut of meat to the animal it came from, and every animal to the pasture where it was raised.
It's very easy for meat to be contaminated with life-threatening pathogens such as E.Coli if food safety isn't put ahead of profit. Unfortunately, with many beef producers it is not. The result has been an alarming number of cases of illness and death caused by people eating dirty beef.
Our extra efforts to ensure clean meat require a lot of time and money, but we can't imagine doing it any other way. Our animals are raised clean, slaughtered clean, packaged and shipped clean, all so that our beef is clean and safe when our clients eat it.
Food safety is a priority at Estancia. We care too much about our clients and our reputation to do it any other way.
